This large, heavy and beautiful handmade wooden meditating Buddha statue, has been intricately carved from a single piece of wood, which shows the characteristic tight curls, elongated ears and the eyes closed in meditation, all of which suggests the serenity of Enlightenment.
This solid wooden Buddha statue is carved from the warm and close-grained wood known as suar or rain tree wood, which is grown as a sustainable crop. After carving it is sanded, waxed and polished by the world famous Balinese wood carvers and like all Buddha statues imported by the Buddha of Plenty, it has been made specifically for us on a Fair Trade basis.
