Carved from alabesia wood (a medium density tropical wood), the Meditating Buddha statue is then sanded, oiled and stained. And while not able to offer the same amount of detailing as our hardwood carvings, it is a lot less fragile (and cheaper!), which means you will not worry too much about the dog chewing it! One of the reasons why this wood is particularly popular for putting in the garden.
We have hundreds of Buddha statues in stock, and like all carvings imported by the Buddha of Plenty, this Buddha has been made specifically for us on a Fair Trade basis.
