The characteristic tight curls, elongated ears and the eyes closed in meditation, all of which suggest the serenity of Enlightenment; this hand carved wooden Buddha plaque, has been sculpted from a single piece of selected hardwood, taken from sustainable forests. Once the Buddha carving is finished, the wood is then stained using natural pigments, and then highlighted with gold paints.
This Buddha carving is a work of great skill, so it will be of no surprise to learn that it was made in Ubud, the cultural heart of Bali, and, like all the products we import, has been made specifically for the Buddha of Plenty on a Fair Trade basis.
